Procedures
- If you leave The Attic before your pre-sort is complete, anything we cannot consign will be donated to the Salvation Army at closing that day. We do not hold items overnight.
- Within 7 days of your pre-sort you will receive two emails:
- Confirmation that your consignment is entered.
- Your itemized list.
- This is our only communication. We do not send updates on sales or reminders for pickup dates.
- If we missed anything during your pre-sort, you have the option to pick up any additional 'No-Thank You's':
- Please pick up these items by the Donate Date.
- We cannot extend this deadline.
- Pickup is optional.
- Items not picked up by the end of business on the Donate Date go to the Salvation Army.
- The Attic does not negotiate selling prices. We price items based on current market value (Ebay/Poshmark comparison), current trends, condition, inventory levels, and season.

- The Attic accepts, prices, and sells your items. Consignors receive a percentage of the net sales price, which credits your account immediately. Net sales price is defined as the sales price before sales tax, buyer's fees, and discounts being applied. Buyer fees are added to cover The Attic's cost to process and list the items for sale, and does not affect the percentage you receive. Buyer's fees are WAIVED on items priced $260+.
- Promotional discounts offered by The Attic may decrease the listed selling price of your items.
- The Attic reserves the right to change the sales price of consigned items at any time during the 60 day consignment period; consignors will be notified via email of the change and may pull the item if they do not accept the price. The Attic is not responsible if the item sells before the consignor pulls the item. We do this to ensure that your item sells! This does not apply to items you have set minimums for.
- You certify that you are the owner of the items you are placing on consignment and that you have obtained these items legally and have the right to sell these items.
- If another person is dropping off on your behalf, they will sign as the responsible party for all current policies and procedures associated with your account.
- Consignors are responsible for updating account contact information.
- Consignors can take a check at any time or use their account credit to purchase items in the store.
- Consignors living within a 60 mile radius of The Attic are required to come into the store to receive their account balance. Consignors who live or move outside of a 60 mile radius from The Attic can request a check to be mailed for a $3 fee per check request. Requests must be emailed to info@atticclothes.com. These consignors are responsible for their items, account activity/inactivity, account balance, and requesting a check to be mailed.
- After one year of inactivity, if the consignor has an unclaimed balance on their account, the account will incur a $10 monthly storage fee until the account is at a zero balance. 'Activity' includes selling an item, taking a check, or using account credit.
- Consigned items become store owned on the expiration date.
- If you chose to reclaim your unsold items at the end of your consignment period, it is your responsibility to monitor the contract expiration date and to pull your items from the store floor prior to the expiration date. The Attic will NOT notify you when the consignment period is over. The Attic staff WILL NOT pull unsold consignment items from the selling floor - you must pull your own items. We will print you a list upon request of your unsold items.
- Off-season items have separate consignment periods and pick-up dates. The Attic reserves the right to store your items in off-season inventory. You will not be able to access your off-season items until their 'Date Processed'.
- Consignment items retrieved within 45 days of your entered date are subject to an early pull fee.
- When sorting your items all recommended precautions will be taken while handling your items, but you indemnify and hold harmless The Attic, its officers and staff, from any claims resulting from The Attic reviewing your items.
- The Attic will take reasonable efforts to prevent the theft or loss of your items, but The Attic is not liable for any damage to or loss of your items and will not pay for damaged or stolen items.
- You authorize The Attic to contact you with details about your consignment account and marketing materials; you may opt out of marketing materials at any point. Customer information is collected because we are required to do so by federal and local authorities and it is confidential and NEVER sold.
